483 A study of cataract complications in patients with atopic dermatitis attending our ophthalmology department

Background: Patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) are known to suffer from cataracts. However, the factors that cause cataracts have not been fully elucidated. Purpose: To evaluate association between and clinical findings such as severity topical steroid dosage in AD patients. Methods: We collected data of patients who attended our hospital 2008 2014 underwent 2 or more intraocular pressure measurements at hospital. The cataract skin lesions, laboratory data, amount use were evaluated by logistic regression analysis. Results: dataset included 68 whose ages ranged 0-64 years old (median 29). Fourteen tended moderate above lesions longer disease duration, though statistically significant. Complications associated data. Among cataracts, 3 had allergic conjunctivitis, keratoconjunctivitis, retinal detachment, glaucoma, blepharitis. Conclusion: Most severer duration AD, despite lack significant associations. Larger-scale studies other observables, external stimuli (hitting rubbing), needed clarify risk factors.
